We are looking for a great person to help us improve our Visitor Experience at Coombes Valley. Do you want to experience, and be part of, building the visitor profile of beautiful woodland reserves? Do you enjoy inspiring people to support us in Saving Nature? Can you deliver events that enthuse people to connect with nature? Do you want to build your skills in managing a team of volunteers to help you deliver this? Then you should take a look at this role and give me a ring for a chat (ring Mel or Gemma on 01538 384017).

If successful, your role will be to inspire people to visit, support and join the RSPB and deliver events and activities that make an income for the reserve while connecting visitors with nature. You will need to be a great communicator with an enthusiasm and passion for sharing our vision of ‘Saving Nature’; persuading people to support our goals.

You will need to be able to lead and motivate people, as well as being an excellent team player. You will manage and help build a team of volunteers who support you in delivering our objectives. Together, you’ll deliver high quality experiences and events on the reserve.

Planning ahead, attention to detail and using your own initiative are also key requirements. Working with the reserve and the Midlands Regional Team you will develop your own schedule for promoting and delivering an events programme; at Coombes Valley and at occasional off-site events.

To help you achieve that in the most effective way, you will have appropriate training, from courses that help you understand our brand and communication style to working with young people.

From a practical point of view, you will need to be able to occasionally load and unload bulky displays and walk around the reserve. There’s also a requirement to work outside of normal office hours, including regular weekend work.

Being part of our team will mean you are making a difference to nature and people every day. If you believe you are the right person for this exciting and rewarding role we look forward to receiving your application
