Economic Development Officer (Business Engagement)
Grade 5, £31,095 – £35,802 per annum
37 hours per week
Causeway House, Braintree
Braintree District Council has ambitious economic growth plans. Capitalising on our strategic location between Stansted Airport and the Haven Ports and building on a successful track record of delivery, we aim to support businesses to create 10,000 jobs by 2033.
We are looking for an Economic Development Officer to lead work in supporting local businesses to deliver this growth and build on our deserved track record and a strong reputation within the business community.
Based in our Economic Development Team, you will be the main point of contact for businesses large and small, providing business support and guidance across a range of issues. You will also be responsible for organizing our innovative programme of business engagement and events throughout the year.
The role will also be required to help deliver the Draft Braintree District Plan for Growth which includes our strategic objectives for future development, our new tourism strategy and programme of skills development. Experience of making and supporting groups access funding opportunities would be an advantage.
